Electrochemical nanosensor for ultrasensitive detection of malachite green and monitoring of its photocatalytic degradation

Abstract Herein, we report the synthesis, characterization, and application of TiO 2 /ZnO La-doped ZnO nanocomposites for detection degradation studies Malachite Green (MG). were synthesized by reflux hydrothermal methods, respectively, characterized UV–visible spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive analysis. A glassy carbon electrode modified with COOH- f MWCNTs nanocomposite demonstrated high sensitivity characteristics sensing MG up to 0.34 nM limit detection. The a photocatalytic method using 2% led 99% in 40 min. breakdown followed first-order kinetics as revealed from spectroscopic electrochemical monitoring process. Color variation offered naked-eye evidence specified time. experimental findings helped proposing mechanism. To best our knowledge, current work presents first example novel photocatalyst almost absolute MG. Moreover, modifier well approach adopted is efficient minute-level its degradation.
